As you can see from its color, this is pretty old. It's my earliest review, from the Texas A&M college newspaper, The Battaliion, published on June 8, 1944. I was just short of my seventeenth birthday.

That's my first name you see. I didn't start using the middle one--Carter--until I was in grad school. When I was in the Navy, a little more than a year after this was published, they called me "Ace," because my initials were stenciled across my uniform sweatshirt.

I wouldn't mind seeing Desert Song again.
